NASAA Welcomes New President and Announces 2026-2027 Board of Directors at 2026 Fall Annual Meeting

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS – (October 6, 2026) – The North American Securities Administrators Association (NASAA) announced today that Elizabeth Bowling, Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance (TDCI) Assistant Commissioner, Securities, has become NASAA’s President during the 2026 NASAA Fall Annual Meeting in Chicago.

Bowling was elected NASAA President-Elect by NASAA members in 2025 and assumed her new role as the 2026-2027 NASAA President on October 6, 2026. She succeeds NASAA Past President Marni Rock Gibson.

Bowling has served as TDCI Assistant Commissioner, Securities Division since 2019, where she oversees enforcement of the Tennessee Securities Act, regulatory compliance, investigations, and investor education initiatives designed to protect investors and prevent fraud.

A recognized leader in securities regulation, Bowling has served in several leadership roles with NASAA, including Treasurer of the NASAA Board, a member of the NASAA Board of Directors, chair of the Board of Directors’ Exams Advisory Committee, co-chair of the Distributed Ledger Technology Steering Committee, and member of the Federal Legislation Committee. In the past Bowling has served as a member of the Broker-Dealer Section Committee, chair of the Small Business/Limited Offering Project Group, and liaison to the Arbitration Project Group. She also served on NASAA’s Regulation Best Interest Working Group and is a member of the Securities and Insurance Licensing Association’s NASAA Engagement Task Force.

Prior to joining the Division, Bowling spent more than 14 years as general counsel in the financial services industry. She earned her Juris Doctor from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law and graduated cum laude from Wesleyan College with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and a minor in business.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as NASAA’s President and to represent the state and provincial regulators who embody the best of public service,” said Bowling. “In the year ahead, we’ll work to set legislative priorities, build stronger engagement with industry, and advance our mission to protect Main Street investors.”

Bowling also announced NASAA’s 2026-2027 Board of Directors. Joining her are:

  • Board Member: Faith Anderson, Director of Securities, Washington State Department of Financial Institutions*
  • Board Member: Jesse Devine, Securities Administrator, Maine Office of Securities
  • Board Member: Erin Houston, Administrator and Deputy Secretary of State for Securities, Nevada Securities Division*
  • Board Member: Melanie Senter Lubin, Securities Commissioner, Maryland Division of Securities
  • Board Member: Amanda Smith, Securities Administrator, Vermont Department of Financial Regulation*
