NASAA Launches Comprehensive Online IAR Continuing Education Course Catalog to Streamline Compliance and Professional Development

WASHINGTON, D.C. – (March 10, 2026) – The North American Securities Administrators Association (NASAA) today announced the launch of a comprehensive public course catalog for investment adviser representatives (IARs) seeking to fulfill their continuing education (CE) requirements under NASAA’s IAR CE Model Rule.

The new catalog provides a centralized, user-friendly platform where IARs can browse every NASAA-approved IAR CE course in one location. Users can filter offerings by subject matter, course format, provider, number of credits, level of complexity, and whether a course has also been approved for continuing education credit for other professional designations.

“The catalog was created to minimize the challenge IARs experience when identifying courses that align with both their professional interests and the needs of their clients,” said NASAA President Marni Gibson. “This tool will make it easier for IARs to stay current on regulatory requirements and best practices, strengthening the services they provide and enhancing investor protection.”

In November 2020, NASAA announced membership adoption of the Investment Adviser Representative Continuing Education (IAR CE) Model Rule, establishing a framework for jurisdictions to implement CE requirements for IARs. Since that time, 24 jurisdictions have adopted the model rule, and participation in the program has expanded significantly. At the start of 2026, NASAA recorded 108 approved IAR CE providers offering 1,136 approved courses.

To support this growth and improve accessibility, NASAA’s IAR CE Committee partnered with a technology and software vendor to develop the new public catalog, designed to simplify course discovery and enhance compliance.

IARs play a critical role in the financial lives of millions of Americans, offering guidance on retirement planning, investments, and other major financial decisions. Prior to 2020, however, IARs were not subject to a uniform continuing education requirement to maintain state licensure. The IAR CE Model Rule has helped close that gap by requiring IARs in adopting jurisdictions to complete 12 hours of continuing education annually, including ethics and products and practice components.

The course catalog is now live and available at iarce.nasaa.org. For more information about NASAA’s IAR CE program, please visit NASAA’s IAR CE webpage at nasaa.org/iarce.
