WASHINGTON, D.C. – (March 17, 2026) – The North American Securities Administrators Association (NASAA) today announced that Andrea Seidt, Commissioner of the Ohio Division of Securities, has been named Vice Chair of the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Investor Advisory Committee (IAC).
Seidt was named as the representative of state securities commissions in 2024. In her new role, Seidt will serve a three-year term and work closely with the IAC Chair to manage committee functions and help guide the committee’s work. As Vice Chair, she will assist in overseeing the governance of the committee, including assessing officer vacancies within the Executive Committee and subcommittees. She will also participate as a member of the Executive Committee, which leads the IAC’s work preparing substantive panel discussions and drafting findings and recommendations for the Commission.
“I am honored to serve as Vice Chair of the SEC’s Investor Advisory Committee, which plays a vital role in helping the SEC deliver on its mission” said Seidt. “State securities regulators are on the front lines of protecting investors from fraud and abuse. I will work with my fellow committee members and SEC staff to strengthen investor protections and ensure the perspectives of state securities regulators are reflected in the committee’s work.”
Established under the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act and independent of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the IAC provides guidance, expertise, and recommendations to the Commission on regulatory priorities, the regulation of securities products, trading strategies, fee structures, the effectiveness of disclosure, and initiatives designed to protect investor interests and promote investor confidence and the integrity of the securities marketplace.
The committee is composed of leaders from the public and private sectors who represent the interests of both retail and institutional investors.
“Commissioner Seidt has been a strong advocate on behalf of investors and will continue to make sure their interests are front and center with the IAC,” said NASAA President Marni Gibson. “She has a deep understanding of the capital markets and how they should serve investors seeking to build a secure financial future. Her leadership will be a tremendous asset to the committee.”
