SCOTTSDALE, Arizona – (September 9, 2025) – The North American Securities Administrators Association (NASAA) has announced that Marni Rock Gibson, Commissioner and Securities Administrator of the Kentucky Department of Financial Institutions, became NASAA’s President today during the 2025 NASAA Fall Annual Meeting held in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Gibson was elected as President-elect by NASAA members in 2024 and assumed her new role as the 2025-2026 NASAA President on September 9, 2025. She succeeds NASAA Past-President Leslie Van Buskirk.
Gibson brings nearly 25 years of experience in the financial industry and regulation to her new role as NASAA President. Since joining the Kentucky DFI in 2009, she has held a variety of leadership roles before her appointment as Commissioner in 2023.
Gibson has been an active contributor to national regulatory efforts, serving on numerous NASAA committees and working groups. She was elected NASAA President-Elect in 2024 after three terms on the Board of Directors. She has served as Chair of NASAA’s Strategic Planning Committee, Vice-Chair of NASAA’s CRD/IARD Steering Committee and on its Finance and Audit Committee. Her economic public service includes board roles with the Kentucky Financial Empowerment Commission and Eastern Kentucky University’s Banking Program Advisory Committee.
“It’s an honor to serve as NASAA’s President and to represent the state and provincial regulators who work tirelessly to protect investors,” said Gibson. “Together, we’ll strengthen regulation, expand financial empowerment, and keep Main Street investors at the center of everything we do.”
Gibson also announced NASAA’s 2025-2026 Board of Directors. Joining her are:
