WASHINGTON, D.C. – (January 19, 2023) – The North American Securities Administrators Association, Inc. (NASAA) announced today that Fred Baldassaro has been named the director of communications. In this role, Baldassaro will develop, manage, and lead the internal and external communications functions of the organization. Baldassaro will advance NASAA’s longstanding efforts to protect investors and promote responsible capital formation.

“Fred is a seasoned communications professional who has experience developing strategic communications in the public and private sector,” said Joseph Brady, NASAA’s Executive Director. “He has advised companies, elected officials, and nonprofits, and will bring those skills to NASAA’s efforts to promote the investor protection work of its members.”

Baldassaro has held senior roles at the U.S Treasury Department and the U.S. Small Business Administration. He served as communications director for the bi-partisan Bowles-Simpson Deficit Commission. He has advised Fortune 100 companies during his work at Edelman, the public relations firm, and served as director of communications for state campaigns at the Pew Charitable Trusts. Baldassaro attended Emerson College in Boston and earned a master’s degree at George Washington University in D.C.
