NORTH AMERICAN SECURITIES ADMINISTRATORS ASSOCIATION™

For IAR CE Content Providers

Overview

The IAR CE Program includes Content Providers, Instructors, and Courses. No person or organization can serve as a Content Provider, and no content can qualify as a Course, without approval from NASAA. NASAA uses the Content Provider Site within the IAR CE application management system (the “IAR CE AMS”) to review Content Providers and Courses for approval.

A Content Provider is the person or organization with ultimate responsibility for the content of each Course. Content Providers are typically organizations (e.g., professional education providers, securities firms or law firms, or nonprofit service organizations) although individuals can also be Content Providers (e.g., compliance professionals). If NASAA has a question—or an issue—with a Course, NASAA will contact the Content Provider.

Courses are the educational content that form programs of study which have been approved by NASAA for credit in the IAR CE Program. There is no mandatory format for a Course. Courses can consist entirely of written materials, but most Courses will likely be presented through some type of live or audiovisual presentation. Courses can be conducted in person or held online (or both). Courses can be unrecorded and offered as a single event, or they can be recorded and offered on-demand. However, all Courses must include three components: (a) appropriate educational content, (b) a suitable presentation format, and (c) a methodology for assessment or opportunities for engagement.

Instructors are the individuals who present the Courses. NASAA does not review prospective Instructors for approval and NASAA has no responsibility for Instructors’ conduct. Instead, Content Providers are responsible for ensuring their Instructors are qualified to give Courses and for overseeing their conduct.
