WASHINGTON, D.C. – (March 8, 2022) – The North American Securities Administrators Association (NASAA) announced today that Wisconsin securities administrator and NASAA Board Member  Leslie M. Van Buskirk has been elected as Vice Chair of the Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) Investor Advisory Committee. In 2020, she was appointed to the committee to represent the views of state securities regulators.

“We are delighted that Leslie has been elected to serve as Vice Chair of the SEC’s Investor Advisory Committee. Her distinguished career and service as a state securities regulator with the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions’ Division of Securities will certainly be an asset to the Committee,” said Melanie Senter Lubin, NASAA President and Maryland Securities Commissioner. “We know that Leslie will bring her long-standing commitment to investor protection to this important role.”

The Investor Advisory Committee was established to advise the SEC on regulatory priorities, the regulation of securities products, trading strategies, fee structures, the effectiveness of disclosure, and on initiatives to protect investor interests and to promote investor confidence and the integrity of the securities marketplace. The Committee is authorized to submit findings and recommendations to the Commission.
