The North American Securities Administrators Association (NASAA) seeks a General Counsel to serve both a policy and legal role at NASAA. As the director of the NASAA legal department the General Counsel is responsible for providing advice to the NASAA leadership and managing up to 3 attorneys and 1 support staff in carrying out specific legal tasks on behalf of the Association. The General Counsel is also involved in the development and execution of various policy initiatives undertaken by the Association. A successful candidate will have a strong background in securities regulation, strong overall legal skills including the ability to communicate effectively in writing, a commitment to investor protection, and a desire to work in an association environment. Responsibilities will range from providing advice on corporate governance matters to conducting legal and regulatory analysis in the securities field.
