WASHINGTON  (August 16, 2001) — The North American Securities Administrators Association (NASAA) today named Mark Davis, 52, associate general counsel. Davis has worked extensively on Capitol Hill and for federal agencies. In the late 1990s, Davis served as legislative director and counsel, first to Rep. Frank Riggs (R-Calif.), and later to Rep. Lee Terry (R-Neb.). Earlier, Davis was senior staff counsel to the House District of Columbia Committee. Prior to that, Davis served as director of the House Ethics Committee`s Office of Advice and Education. In the Seventies and Eighties, Davis held senior liaison positions within the Justice Department and Federal Election Commission.

Davis is a graduate of Albion College in Michigan. He received his Masters Degree in legislative affairs from George Washington University and his law degree from Georgetown University. Davis is a member of the District of Columbia bar.
