NASAA to Participate in National Seniors Summit September 10

Summit to Bring Together Leading Senior Investor Protection Authorities

WASHINGTON (August 7, 2007) —The North American Securities Administrators Association (NASAA) will participate in the second annual Seniors Summit, hosted by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, September 10, 2007 in Washington, D.C., NASAA President Joseph P. The Summit, announced today by SEC Chairman Christopher Cox, will bring together leading authorities from state securities regulatory agencies, the SEC, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), and AARP to discuss progress in the ongoing efforts to protect senior investors and workers nearing retirement from abusive sales practices and investment fraud.

“We are pleased to work with the SEC, FINRA and the AARP to help protect our nation’s senior investors from fraud,” Borg said. “This summit reflects our long-standing collaborative relationship and I believe it will contribute to our ongoing efforts to protect senior investors.”

The Summit will be held in the Auditorium at SEC Headquarters, 100 F Street, N.E., Washington, D.C. The agenda, panelists, and registration instructions for the Seniors Summit will be announced at a later date.

NASAA is the oldest international organization devoted to investor protection. Its membership consists of the securities administrators in the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, the provinces and territories of Canada, and Mexico.
