WASHINGTON, D.C. (September 5, 2018) — The following is a statement from Joseph P. Borg, President of the North American Securities Administrator Association (NASAA) and Director of the Alabama Securities Commission on the confirmation by the Senate of Elad L. Roisman to serve on the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission:

NASAA’s membership consists of the securities administrators in the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, the provinces and territories of Canada, and Mexico. NASAA members are responsible for administering state and provincial securities laws that both serve to protect investors from fraud while also providing regulatory frameworks through which businesses can raise capital.
